The Blessed Virgin Mary In Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral

On Monday March 8, 2010 I attended a mass inside Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral which was followed by a group rosary prayer and speeches by two priests about the Marian apparitions of Medjugorje Yugoslavia that set up a one hour talk by Ivan Dragicevic, one the 6 individuals who received the original apparitions in 1981 and is one of the 3 who continues to receive them on a daily basis.

March 8, 2010 was the 9th anniversary of the day that my wife and I knelt down inside the grotto of Caritas of Birmingham Alabama where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared along with Marija Lunetti, one of the six visionaries of Medjugorje, and one of three who still see the Virgin Mary everyday. According to their website, "there have been over 100 apparitions of the Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace at Caritas, Alabama." - see link below.

Holy Name Cathedral was packed - standing room only. The new roof looked beautiful. Last year on 2/4 - the eve of my 51st birthday - a fire broke out inside the roof of the 135 year old cathedral. According to the Chicago Suntimes, "flames from the three-alarm blaze shot through the church's blackened roof for about an hour before they were replaced by plumes of white smoke. The fire was struck out at around 8 a.m."

as firefighters attempt to save it from a fire last year. According to reports,
no-one was injured, but they still have not identified the cause of the blaze.
