Ben Zobrist is an incredible baseball player, but if you read his Wikipedia page you will have a much greater appreciation for how razor thin the odds were that he would ever make it to the pros.

No other players in baseball history have had three hits in the opening game of successive World Series; Ruth having done it for the Yankees in 1927 and 1928."
