AUGUSTA, Ga. -- This was not golf. No, golf as we know it -- even as defined by the best players in the world -- has human characteristics. It wobbles. It deceives. It goes left when it's supposed to go right. It rewards stingily.

This? This looked suspiciously like a finger reaching down from above and touching a man wearing a white golf glove. And ever so briefly, that man knew what perfection felt like, even though he was swinging left-handed.

What Phil Mickelson did to three unsuspecting holes Saturday at Augusta National was something people dream about, then immediately feel silly for.

In a span of 35 minutes during the third round of the Masters, Mickelson went from being four strokes behind leader Lee Westwood to being ahead by one. Read more here.

Today is April 10th (4/10) and at EXACTLY 4:10 pm CDT Phil made the first of this two consecutive eagles on the 13th hole, one of only three individuals in the history of the Masters to perform this feat.

The Blessed Virgin Mary In Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral

On Monday March 8, 2010 I attended a mass inside Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral which was followed by a group rosary prayer and speeches by two priests about the Marian apparitions of Medjugorje Yugoslavia that set up a one hour talk by Ivan Dragicevic, one the 6 individuals who received the original apparitions in 1981 and is one of the 3 who continues to receive them on a daily basis.

March 8, 2010 was the 9th anniversary of the day that my wife and I knelt down inside the grotto of Caritas of Birmingham Alabama where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared along with Marija Lunetti, one of the six visionaries of Medjugorje, and one of three who still see the Virgin Mary everyday. According to their website, "there have been over 100 apparitions of the Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace at Caritas, Alabama." - see link below.

John Riggins made Super Bowl XVII a one-man show

Few players have dominated a postseason the way Washington's John Riggins did after the strike-shortened 1982 campaign. In the three games heading into Super Bowl XVII, he rushed 98 times for 444 yards. SI's Paul Zimmerman was on hand at Pasadena's Rose Bowl for his finale.

Super Bowl XVII—the game, the week preceding it and its aftermath—was molded in the image of John Riggins. It bore his stamp right from the opening gun, the Tuesday Picture Day, when the Redskins' fullback implacably stared out over his sea of questioners, and it carried his signature last Sunday night when he stood on a platform in the steaming press tent and acknowledged his selection as MVP after Washington had knocked off Miami 27--17.
